Continuance |
|
| |
Continuance is the postponement of a hearing, trial, or other scheduled court proceeding at the request of either or both parties in the dispute, or by the judge. |

| 86.2 |
Limit of continuance |
|
| |
No continuance is permitted to be granted unless, one of the following specific issues apply. |
|
| |
(i) The incapacity of the defendant under intensive medical care so that if they were to be moved, their life would be physically in danger; |
|
| |
(ii) The kidnapping/hostage taking of a star witness for the prosecution; |
|
| |
(iii) The murder or severe hospitalization of a star witness for the prosecution. |
|
