Key Events

May 25, 1963	Organisation of African Unity (OAU) established
September 9, 1999	Sirte Declaration calling for establishment of African Union
2000	Lomé in 2000 Constitutive Act of the African Union was adopted
Lusaka in 2001	the plan for the implementation of the African Union was adopted.
July 9, 2002	African Union was launched in Durban
2005	Revised African Union Constitution drafted by Frank O'Collins
2006	Africans-Union.Org web site launched
